Always and Forever

Introducing the Parisian Flourish 3-D embossing folder from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini!   I think that using the 3-D embossing folders gives your project a very rich look, especially with the layered ribbon.  To pull out the design and give it depth, I lightly sponged the "flat" side of the folder using Soft Suede ink.  I cut two of the Eiffel Tower dies from the Parisian Beauty dies, one of Gold foil and one from Soft Suede.  I offset them slightly, the the Gold foil on top and adhered them.

A little too extra?

When I started this project, all I had in mind was something shabby chic using Grace's Garden and the Stitched Lace die. I expected faded flowers, to be sponging Crumb Cake and rolling edges, maybe a little ripping and tearing.  But no, it went in a totally softer direction -- I stamped the images in CrumbCake, giving a very ethereal feel.  The Crumb Cake won't hold up to much water, so I only lightly lifted color off the ink pads with a nearly dry Aquapainter, and applied it.

The Stitched Lace die cut is back with Soft Sea Foam card stock, which is then trimmed to fit the lace with the straight edge that's included in the Stitched Lace dies.  The Blushing Bride layer was pieced behind the Soft Sea Foam layer, also using the straight edge .

For the sentiment, I cut one die cut out of Soft Sea Foam for the outline, and cut again from Whisper White and carefully glued in the pieces.  The sentiment itself came from Free as a Bird.

Honey Bee!

This is a darling set from the new SU! Occasions min, which is bundled with the coordinating Detailed Bee dies.  For easy layering, I went to the Squares Collection framelits.   A dash of paper Piercing in the scallops and pearls finish this project off.  Easy, breezy!

Tea-stained on purpose!

Yes, it's tea stained on purpose!  I split some tea on it and decided not to wipe it off right away.  I like the look, but wish that the card stock hadn't gotten wrinkled.

I love the muted look of this and tried to keep the contrasting use of Soft Suede to a minimum, on purpose.  I was searching for bits and pieces to add to this one, so I used a silver soda pop top from my beloved cache of trinkets.  I used a 1" circle punch on a piece of one of the Pool Party designs from Parisian Blossoms DSP, then sealed it in with a thick layer of clear Crystal Effects.  I also liberated some light golden-brown pearls for the centers of the flowers.  For a softer look on the flowers, I stamped them out using Soft Suede, then used a nearly dry aquatinted for the Petal Pink.

Botanical Prints

This card started going in one direction, but totally ended up in a different place completely.  My inspiration was the lemon print from the Botanical Prints DSP. I cut the frame out for the central image using the Stained Glass thinlits, cutting one each of White, Crushed Curry, Black and Old Olive -- then I mixed and matched pieces to make it visually more interesting.

The lattice framework is the white side of the Pretty Peacock/White  lattice from the product medley. I dragged the white side over a Black Memento ink pad, to give it a graphic punch, along with gold brads and a tiny copper bumblebee.  All in all, I'm very pleased with how graphic this ended up.

Celebrate every moment

This is so much prettier than the photo -- I just couldn't get it right.  Grace's Garden, from the new Stampin' Up! Occasions mini catalog is so versatile, especially using the matching Garden Gateway dies!  I pulled out my Detailed Bands dies and could just see how it would look with hollyhocks, Black-eyed Susans and flowering hosta at the bottom.  In the middle of dreary December, I wanted something light, airy and summery.  Honey bees, pearls and piercing just sort of lift the whole thing!
