Fanciful Fragrance

I've always wanted to do something with these two sets from the 2019-2020 Stampin' Up Annual Catalog.  I love their vintage, graceful feel!  As the perfume bottles are manufactured with thin, close line images, I stamped them in Soft Suede so that they wouldn't be so heavy and dark. Those images were lightly watercolored, building the color up on the bottles as it would look naturally.  White gel pen, Wink of Stella in gold, and Champagne Mist all-purpose inked highlight and dimension.

I love adding fragments of other stamps, stamped lightly in a soft neutral. For this card, I lightly stamped the French block of script from Very Versailles and the fluer de lis under the sentiment from Fanciful Fragrance.

Butterfly Garden

A fanciful garden scene to brighten your winter day!  Grace's Garden is clearly one of my favorite sets from the SU! Occasions mini catalog.  I love the way that you can cut out all the elements with the bundled Garden Gateway dies.  To give it a softer look, I stamped the images in Soft Suede, rather than Black Memento ink.  You have to be a little more careful with your watercoloring, but I think that it's worth the effort.

For the "sky" that you see through the garden gate, I sponged my own.  Using two punchies from the Scallop punch, adhered them by the ends, angling them a bit into a slight "v" shape.  Sponging Pool Party ink lightly along the scallops,  and making sure to leave bits of white card stock showing, move the "v" across and down the piece of white card stock

Queen Bee

A card without stamps or ink!  I was inspired by a Queen Bee lamp from MacKenzie Childs -- one of my favorites. Behind the bee on my card is a die cut from the honeycomb cut out of black card stock.   I wanted to add a little texture, but, because of all the patterns, I didn't want a huge distraction, but just a little zugz.  The bee is cut from Gold foil paper and the black dot trim was made using a 1/8" round hole punch.

Unfortunately, this project started out as a very simple sympathy card for two people that we lost this past week.  I needed two cards that could be finished fairly quickly, and that would fit in a standard A2 envelope.  I started with the Magnolia Lane Memories & More card pack and went from there.  The sentiment is from Good Morning Magnolia and the die shape is from Detailed Banded dies. Some brads, paper piercing and ribbon later -- voila!
