Ephemera, ephemera, everywhere!

I really wanted to create a shabby page from a botany journal, but I think I messed up with two central images -- it doesn't seem to have a focal point. Oh well -- live and learn! I did, however, make the lined notebook paper, using the old Spiral punch, which is so sadly retired.

Does anyone remember the days when we altered every piece of dsp that crossed our paths? The striped dsp was over stamped in Crackle Paint in Soft Suede, then I pulled out my all-time-favorite from Itty Bitty Backgrounds, the spatter stamp. I worked that one in Crumb Cake Soft Suede and White craft ink. The diamond piece was stamped on the "craft" looking Crumb Cake piece, also from Gilded Autumn dsp, and the spatter stamp worked in Soft Suede. Both Pieces are Sponged with Soft Suede

The textiles were a bit of a problem. I started with the Merry Merlot/Copper reversible ribbon, but that didn't just do it -- it got lost in the striped pattern of the dsp. I added Mint Macaron sheer linen ribbon, but brought it over the diamond pattern layer. It still didn't seem enough, so I added the slightly narrower Mint Macaron Textile and the Copper bordered Vanilla ribbon across the center. I added a Merry Merlot box and a row of gold metallic pearls across the center.

Jar of Sunflowers

Jar of Flowers is one of the new sets in the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  It's a very versatile set, having  two sizes of jars and four seasonal bunches of flowers -- tulips, summer blooms, roses and sunflowers. It's bundled with a punch the exact shape of the jar, so it's easy to punch out!

I couldn't find quite the card stock I wanted for the central image, so I used the old Print Pattern background stamp, which I lightly sponged with Crumb Cake to get the slightly textured look.  The sentiment is from Field Journal and I used my new favorite punch, Banners Pick a Punch.

Peony Snow Globe

Why is it since Cov19 took over our world, it takes more and more time to complete a card?  I don't know.  However, it's not like I'm not spending the same amount of time at my desk, but the cards just keep a' growin'.

There is so much going on here, it might take awhile to explain.

I watercolored two of the peony blossom, then fussy cut and layered it to create more of a 3D blossom.  I have the Peony dies, but I like this better -- probably because it's so fussy.  The petals are painted with Frost White Shimmer Paint from Stampin' Up!  It's not obvious in the photo, but it's got this amazing lustre IRL.  The center of the peony is done with old SU! beads in Earths.  Just touching the edges of the beads with the the white frost ink gives them a bit more dimension.

I'm so glad that SU! brought back Still Scenes in this years Holiday Mini!  I loved this set last year and I'm looking forward to playing with it again.  The snow globe domes are also back -- yay!  The champagne pearls around the globe are non-SU!, but I love them and find uses for them in so many projects.  I got these off Amazon, but I wish that SU! would put some in the catalog!

The leaves and buds at the corners of the central layer are from Forever Blossoms -- another favorite set.
