Peony Post Card

Prized Peony is clearly going to be one of my favorite sets from the 2020-2021 SU! Annual Catalog! It's form + function = my shabby style.  The central image of this card is based on a peeled wallpaper treatment using designs from the Peony Garden and In Good Taste DSPs.  The key to really making the peeled wallpaper work is to sponge the edges of both sides of the "wallpaper" layers, then splitting and rolling edges to give it that aged/shabby look.

The Post Card is a sadly retired set, but I like to pull it out from time to time, because it's so versatile.  In this instance, everything is stamped using Gray Granite ink.  The left side of the post card is filled with text from Very Versaille, and the right with a sentiment from Prized Peony. The flowers themselves are stamped in Gray Granite, then watercolored with Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo, fussy cut, and arranged around the edge of the post card.  The centers of the flowers are touched with Wink of Stella in gold.

I'm still in my current love affair with the Ornate Borders dies, outlining everything - I can't help it!  The flourish in the upper right is cut from the Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut DSP, which is the most devilish thing to work with, EVER!  The effect is worth it, though.  The pearls are from a big bag of champagne colored pearls that I got from somewhere.  Stampin' Up!, if you're listening, please put some of these in your catalog!!!
