Welcome Baby!

 I made this card for a niece and nephew who just had twin boys -- congratulations to them!  Sadly, just about everything on this card is retired, but I always love working with this stamp, Bringing Baby.  

The clouds behind the image are sponged and are one of my favorite finishes.  I punched out two shapes using the scallop punch, put them end to end at a slight angle and glued them together.  I used a sponge dauber with Soft Sky along the top of the combined shapes, moving them and angling down the paper as I went.  The result is a very soft cloudscape!

Gilded Dandelion

 

I love dandelions -- some of the first flowers of spring.  If I didn't know that they were weeds, I'd cultivate them!  It was also my first attempt using Gilded Leafing.  I put on a little Snail, then patted/rubbed the Leafing with a sponge dauber until I got the look that I wanted, although it's hard to get it to photograph well.

Sand & Sea

Sorry I've been gone for so long!  I'm just at the end of the long process of moving and think that I've finally dug myself out enough to take a little time for me.  This is the first time that I've sat down and crafted since December, so my eye is still a little off!

I bought the Sand & Sea suite on the pre-order, back in December, and I've been itching to use it.  This card is based on the sample in the Mini, mostly because my eye is off and I needed a "guide" for my thoughts.  I stamped each of the shells on the fabulous Pearlescent DSP, cut them out, then fitted them into their spots in the Seashells embossing folder -- and voila! -- beautiful seashells came out!  It's totally satisfying.

Pretty Pansy!

This card was a month in the making!  I was trying to reconcile the stamped images from Pansy Patch with the die cut pieces from the Pansy dies.  In the end, I went completely with the dies because I liked how strong the image was when I put all the pieces together.

As always, I continue my love affair with the Ornate Border and Ornate layers dies -- I really like the lacy borders with the bold graphic of the Pansy Petals DSP.

Succulent Sympathy

Who doesn't love a pot full of Hens & Chicks?  I love this set, from the January-June 2021 mini catalog, I ordered this set back in December but, what with moving, I just had a chance to play with it.  I watercolored two of the large hens & chicks, then popped it up with dimensionals.  I softened the DSP with a piece of vellum.
